PRACTICAL TOOLS. FREELY SHARED.
IT already has enough moving parts. The tools you use should help you get on with the job.
Simple Systems is an independent project built around a straightforward idea: make everyday IT work a little simpler. The toolkit brings together IT asset management, system monitoring and browser-based tools for mail diagnostics, DNS, storage planning, network calculations and troubleshooting.
A growing toolkit with a clear purpose.
Simple ITAM is being developed to help you manage IT assets and bring information about your equipment into one place. Simple Monitor focuses on system monitoring, so you can get a clearer view of what is happening across your environment. Their pages include features and screenshots; download links will be added when releases are ready.
E-mail Tools brings together MX, SPF, DMARC and DKIM lookups, an SPF analyser, an e-mail header analyser, a DMARC report viewer and a Microsoft 365 DNS checker. Each tool has its own page so you can go straight to the check you need.
DNS Tools covers DNS record lookups, propagation comparisons, DNS record generation, domain availability and registration information, and reverse DNS checks with forward confirmation. It helps you inspect published records and prepare changes with clearer information.
Other Tools includes calculators for backup retention, storage growth, RAID capacity, transfer time, uptime and subnets, plus IP range comparison. You will also find certificate and HTTP header checkers, a password generator, a cron schedule helper, a maintenance window planner, a backup window planner, a timestamp converter, a log analyser and configuration comparison.
Free to use. Support by choice.
E-mail Tools, DNS Tools and Other Tools are free to use online. Simple ITAM and Simple Monitor will be offered as free downloads when releases are ready. The aim is to share practical tools that people can put to work, without making a contribution a condition of access.
If the tools save you time or earn a place in your toolkit, you are welcome to support the project on Buy Me a Coffee. Contributions are optional and appreciated.
Useful software. Simply shared.
Start with the category that fits your task, choose a tool and use what makes your day a little easier. The toolkit will continue to grow around the everyday work of system administrators.
